Letter from Samaritans Purse

Dear Brothers in Christ,

In Matthew 6:25–26 (ESV), Jesus tells His hearers, “Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on…Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”

On behalf of Franklin Graham, thank you for choosing to partner with our ministry this year. Together we have clothed, feed, and cared for those in desperate need. Your prayers this year have been greatly appreciated, and we continue to lift up your church’s needs.

This week, we mailed you a copy of our 2022 Year-End Impact Report which shares how your church’s support and prayers are helping a multitude of hurting people and bringing relief to fathers, mothers, and children that wake up every day to impossibly tough circumstances. In addition to that printed report, an electronic copy of our Ukraine Impact Report is also attached as well as a this link to access a digital copy of the printed report- click here to access the report.

Our prayer is that these reports will encourage you and your fellowship with the message that God used your generosity to move in miraculous and powerful ways throughout the world. We ask that you join us in praising God for all He has done in 2022 to relieve suffering and bring the hope of His Son, Jesus Christ, to the ends of the earth. If you have any questions or prayer requests, please reach out to me. Thank you again for your faithful dedication and compassion to serve those in need. May God bless you.

In Christ,

Samaritan’s Purse Hurricane Response

Below is the entire contents of an email we received from Samaritan’s Purse. Fairport is a supporter of this mission.

Dear Friends,

I hope you are doing well today. Knowing that you may get questions this weekend asking, ‘what can the church do for people in Florida with hurricane Ian?’, I wanted provide you with the following details.

You can confidently tell them, ‘our ministry partner, Samaritan’s Purse is already responding.’ We are working to live out the simple words of Jesus: “Go and do likewise” (Luke 10:37).

Here’s what’s happening:

-Our initial assessment team prepositioned in Georgia last night. They will enter accessible areas of Florida today to begin working with local government and emergency management officials to assess the needs and begin coordination.

-This morning, two of our Disaster Relief Units departed North Carolina for Fort Myers, Florida. They will bring the first wave of supplies and will eventually be used at our bases of operation.

-More information will be posted on our website as the response progresses.

Ways to get involved:

-First and foremost, we ask that you pray. It is the most important work. We’re praying for everyone impacted by this storm, as well as those who will respond to the needs it creates.

-Send volunteer teams to come and help. There will be need for a large number of volunteers for months to come.  Information about signing up to help can be found at this link.

If your church feels led to support this response financially, you may give online by clicking this link, or send a check, designated to United States Disaster Relief (Hurricane Ian), to PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

On behalf of our entire team here at Samaritan’s Purse, thank you for your faithful partnership; we are grateful to know that you are joining us in offering this response up to God.

Prayerfully,

Michelle
