What’s going on in your life since the beginning of 2012? What new decisions have you made to improve your walk with the Lord? How much time are you spending each day in prayer and Bible study? And is the Lord number one in your life?
I ask these questions to help you think about what you may or may not be accomplishing for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Each year we start out with many resolutions, and how we are going to better ourselves, and prove how Christ like we can become, only to have ourselves slip back into the same old mold. What is the reason we seem to stumble and falter so much? I see it as a lack of attention to what the Lord is saying to us through the Holy Spirit. So, how do we overcome this?
1. Try to set realistic goals.
2. Become stronger in your prayer life.
3. Read the Bible for strength and encouragement.
4. Don’t let Satan keep you from your task of serving the Lord.
Depend on God to lead you this year because He tells us in His word: Genesis 18:14a. Is any thing too hard for God? Answer: No! He will be with you no matter what may come.
